Interlock Luxury Vinyl Plank Installation

Nowadays homeowners look to do as much as possible with their home without having to spend a large chunk of money. Let’s face it, back in the day the hardwood floors and Italian marble tiles where the dream but who can afford all that for their home. Don’t get me wrong, if you like it and have the budget for something like that, you’re one of the lucky few so go for it.

On the other hand, if you want something that will add value to your home, give it a new fresh look and won’t break the bank, you might want to consider Vinyl options instead of hardwood floors.

Vinyl planks come in all styles, quality, and colors. Depending on what you want, you can customize the area of your home that you want to remodel.

Let’s look at this project that we did for a customer that wanted to change the floor in the kitchen, living room and dining room.

At first the homeowners were looking for options to break the floor, see what’s under it, level it and then install the new floor (which didn’t know what kind of floor they wanted yet)

On our first call, we said that we can gladly look at the damaged floor and see what really needs to be done, for some reason the homeowners though that you always must remove the floor in order to install the new one, far from true.

The day we did the initial walk around on the property, we realize that the current floor was in good condition, there was no water damage under it and as a result the floor didn’t need to be taken apart. That observation alone saved the homeowners a few thousands (demolition cost, waste and haul cost, leveling cost)

Our consultant helped the homeowners understand that the best way to go about the project was to install either a 2mm glue down vinyl plank or a 5.4mm interlock vinyl plank, as they prefer.

By the floor being on good condition, the only thing that needs to be done is to install the vinyl on top of the floor directly. Sometimes and depending on the floor we can use special glues and sealants that would waterproof the surface of the floor, that way if in the future there’s a problem with a broken pipe or flooding, the floor is fully protected. Have in consideration that vinyl is 100% waterproof, stain, scratch, and indentation resistance and very hygienic when it comes to cleaning.

The homeowners decided to install a 5.4mm luxury vinyl plank on crater lake color for all the area. By not having to spend money on other costs the homeowners started considering carpet options and professional painting for their home. Our company ended up taking all the project, not only the flooring and we were able to give them a great price on everything they asked. The result, an incredibly happy couple with a fresh looking home they will enjoy for many years.
